[Lecture] Railway energy and its environmental impact

Speaker:Dr. Zhendong Liu, KTH Royal Institute of Technology

Time:09:00, July 16, 2023, GMT+8

Venue:Room 218, A1 Building, State Key Laboratory of Rail Transit Vehicle System, Jiuli Campus, Southwest Jiaotong University

Abstract:

Since the world is paying more and more attention into environmental issues, rail transport as an energy-efficient transport mode has the responsibility to improve energy efficiency and to reduce CO2emissions. Various actions have been taken in Europe to support the development of energy-efficient rail vehicles and to effectively use the existing railway infrastructure. This lecture will give a brief overview of the two ongoing railway energy-related projects in Shift2Rail.
